iMac Monitor_edited.png

Shop You is a trendy online American fashion retailer for men and women ages 20-35. Clothing and accessories are sold for every personality to encourage customers to be their true selves. Shop You offers numerous customer advantages such as low price points, virtual try-ons, a style magazine, style guides, free fast delivery, and returns.

Roles and Responsibilities

Led the class project, conducted usability testing, made a competitive analysis, and created wireframes and prototypes.

I did some research on shopping for clothing online and found both male and female users aged 20-35 pain points were shipping costs, type of fabric quality and the biggest pain point was not knowing if clothing would fit them.

Customers don't know if the clothing will fit, the fabric quality, and the shipping costs which cause shoppers to abandon their carts or make returns.

Also, according to retailers, they lose roughly 600 billion dollars every year to sales returns. This includes processing, shipping fees, warehouse space, and losses in addition to the inconvenience the customer faces.

What is the problem?

How do I know if the clothes will fit me?

The Solution

Give the customer clear, accurate information needed to make the best decision possible. This can be done by providing a Virtual Try-On feature on the site. Users will be able to try on the products for fit.  As a result, there will be fewer returns and the company will save money.

Let's look at the top competitors to see how they approach these problems.
